Mensagrams

3 AM. Heavy bleeding. Tearing Japanese printmaking paper into 8x8 squares these mono prints were made with the blood from my last period. I became a printing press in the middle of the night. The next morning when the paper was dry, I drew the fetuses. The operation was in a few days. I convinced my surgeon to help me create "during and after surgery"  photographs so I would have access to an experience that would otherwise be blocked by anesthesia.
