Chehalis Deane Hegner
Cat Ganson
I am Cat’s stepmother, and we began making photographs together when he was twelve. Some images emerge directly from the flow of daily life, unplanned and unguarded. Others are shaped through conversations, built from shared ideas and the subtle narratives we construct together.
What has unfolded over time is an improvisational record of his intrepid spirit—restless, curious, and wholly his own. These photographs trace the space between childhood, manhood, and self‑invention, capturing moments that are both spontaneous and deliberately imagined.
Our collaboration is ongoing. We’ll continue making our pictures for as long as we’re able, letting the work evolve alongside him, and alongside us.
